Frequently Asked Questions from Members

We will continue to post common questions that we are asked to make it simple for our members to find quick answers to their questions.

Where is your warehouse of in kind donations for me to come look at?
In Kind Canada no longer operates or even accepts any donations ourselves. The core of our current model is the “on demand” aspect of the work we do. Previously we had accepted physical items to be warehoused at our office, allowing members to come to “shop” for donated items. This proved very costly, with excessive amounts of donations that in the end, our members did not want. As such, in our current model, we do not accept or store any items at the IKC office. Instead, we work to facilitate the movement of donations from donors to our members. Often this will be through introductions and providing of information. As a donations member, you receive offers and opportunities from donors for in kind gifts. Each donation offer will be different, as to whether they require charitable receipts, require pick up or offer delivery and so forth.

What is the difference between your Donations membership and your Programs membership?
Simply put, the Donations membership gives you access to emails and communications about available donations, whereas the Programs membership does not. Instead, the Programs membership gives you access to OASSIS and our group discount plans. They are two separate memberships.

Can I request specific items?
You are welcome to let us know about specific things that would be of use to your organization so we can keep that in mind as donations are offered, but at this time we are not actively sourcing specific types of donations.
